1990 yamaha blaster.
Big bore kit
So the clutch puller assy. went out. Bought the new one and some friends said we had to pull all the gears and clutch pack and everything out to replace it. So we did and we didnt have to. I put the new puller on ( on the crankcase) then put all the internals back in.
Well when it was in gear it wasnt. it would roll around in nuetral like it wasnt in gear. So i pulled it all back apart adjusted the clutch out and now when i put it in gear the rear wheels lock up so its clearly in gear but when i pull the clutch in its still in gear like there is no clutch. when its running i can shift through all the gears but it doesnt move at all.
Anyone have anyidea what to do to make it back to normal?
Im trying to get it done so my buddy can ride with me.
I ride a suzuki dr350 and dont know much about blasters or yamahas for that matter.
Thanks for any input or help you can give me.:-/

I'm not sure if I follow 100%, but it sounds like the problem that I had. When you adjusted the clutch, did you check the movement of the pressure plate when you pulled the handle? It should move just slightly, between maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inch.

When you check that, you should be in 1st gear (I actually don't know if it matters, but it shouldn't hurt). What I did was put the rear axel up on a jack stand so that I could rotate the wheels and see the clutch move.

When you're in 1st, you should be able to move the back wheels and see the whole clutch assembly rotate. But when you pull the clutch, and you move the wheels, only the clutch boss should rotate. Go slow when you rotate and only turn a little bit because you'll be moving your piston. If when you pull your handle in you see everything move, you probably need to screw in the push rod more.

In the end, you also need some free play in the handle. But check that the lifter is doing it's job and letting the clutch boss spin while the clutch housing does not.
