so i cleaned and reoiled my k&n airfilter yesterday. completly dry before I oiled it . it it sat overnight . Today when i went to ride I had to adjust my air screw from 1 turn out to 3 and i still dont have the same power as before i cleaned the filter .Is it possoble to over oil and restrict air flow. Also my plug is showing a good burn after readjusting airscrew. before it was rich and wouldnt even try to hit a powerband just reved 3rd of the way then started to sputter real bad like it was still very cold. by the way it was 60 deg. in my area today

^^ Thats what I was thinking!

Well I would try removing the filter and readjusting the screw and go for a ride. Similar thing happend to me I replaced the plug and then it worked ok.

Not sure about the K&N, but usually when you over-oil a regular foam filter and it's a little restrictive at first, it goes away with time. I'd see what happens by just letting it sit for a while. If that doesn't work I guess clean it again and use a little less oil.

What kinda oil did you use?? Spray on oil, right?? If you used regular foam filter oil (motor oil) then that could be the issue. K&N has their own special oil that comes in a spray can, it's red and sticky, but goes on much lighter than if you were to soak it in oil!!

Yeah, you can over-oil the filter. With a foam filter, try just pouring a ton of oil over it, bolting it in and then see how well it starts/runs!! Barely any air will get through until all the excess oil drips off and the pores open up!

Was the jetting set up for temps lower than 60 degrees? If so then you were a tad rich, and that would cause sluggishness.

I used K&N spray on oil.
I put a 260 main on it when I got it cause it had the stock 230 but a fmf fatty pipe n the K&N. It ran like hell once I did that and the temps have been about 40 to 60for the most part since then

Dont adjust the air screw on the carb. Put that back at stock...then clean your filter really well from all the oil and put new oil on. use a light coat, that should solve your problems.
