My head light was broken, so I took it off and replaced t with a used one of another bike. I had just been riding it minutes before, but after I put the new light on I tried to start it but now it won't start. I the wires are all matched up, black to black, yellow to yellow, and green to green. Am I missing something?

Found out what is causing it not to start, not sure why though. I unplugged all the wires to the headlight and it started on the first kick, so while it was running I started plugging in the wires one at a time. I plugged in the green and yellow wires and it kept running but as soon as the black wire made a connection it killed the motor. Does anyone that knows about electrical wiring have any ideas why it would do that?

hmmmmmm that's really odd, does the headlight work with high and low beam without the black wire connected?

Does the problem occur with the headligh switch in both the on and off position?

In assembly, could you have pinched the loom, causing the kill switch to be shorted into the lighting circuit.

check to be sure you have a solid black wire for the headlight, and not the eingine killing black/white stripe wire
especially if someone has deleted the keyswitch, that'll put an extra black/white hanging down there

Got all the wires reconnected properly. Now the light works on high and low and the kill switch works. Thanks for all the input. When I disconnected the wires I pulled them one at a time and made a mental note of what went where, but somehow I ended up in the wrong order. I didn't think changing a headlight could have caused such a headache. Thanks again.
