carb boot ???

Okay so I found my leak. Carb boot was split. Up and running now. When i pulled off the old boot though i noticed the little wingg inside was cut off. Anyone have an idea why someone would do that? Stock reeds. NOw on a completely Different subject my rear chain guide is missing. Getting a new one tomorrow but need the bills anyone know the size Adams pitch of the threads? Going to try and pic them up at the hardware store

some reed cages (vf3's) require the "wing" to be cut off the stock boot, maybe someone had that combo before you ?

just did 2 chain guides today, the bolts are
m8 x 1.25, I can't tell you the length for sure ? maybe like 35/40 mm ???
