I have just got my engine back from a rebuild. It was bored 20 over. Now its not idling and has poor throttle response. Overall just running like crap. I am assuming that I need to rejet but I am not sure how much. I have never been much for adjusting carbs. I am hoping someone here can help me. I have a 2003 Blaster that is all stock except for the cylinder rebuild.

going .20 over should really not require rejetting i dont think,, I would start by gettin in that carb. cleanin it up real well and makin sure needle valve works correct and jets are clean... beyond that you should be able to do it with the adjustment screws on the carb.
just my guess but if you had to rebuild,, your carb. sat for a little bit mabey no gas, mabey some dust...
the other thing i have seen problems with is bottom end seals. I dont know why but I did a top end on mine a few years ago, one of the crank seals went bad, my bike ran very poorly "cutting in and out" so i decided to try and clear her out... there went the top end again,,, this also happened to a freind so while I would assume its the carb. but be attentive to other things it could be. if it is just acting rediculous shut it down rethink the symptoms... also if it is all stock GET RID OF OIL INJECTION!!,,, there is just to much room for error there.
as always these are opinions by me and any one who feels I am incorrect please pipe up....
keep us posted these guys can really be a big help..

I cleaned the carb and now when I am riding the rpm will not drop between shifts. If it is just sitting and I rev it, then the idle stays high. It does not drop. Air leak?

check for a leak around your air boot. i had that same problem on my blaster and that fixed the problem. That and I found out that I didnt have a base gasket. anyways start w/ the air boot. they can crack easily.

another good one to check is the reed cage gasket! but all of the above ^^^ should straighten it out! good luck

Ok so I checked the boot and it is fine. I have one gasket between the engine and the cage. There is no gasket between the cage and the boot. The boot looks like it was designed to seal without a gasket. Is this correct? It looks like it is leaking oil and gas out of it. I am assuming that if it was designed with a seal then the seal is shot, or it is suppose to have a gasket.
