Can the stator burn out?

If the stator side crank seal leaks and oily gas gets into the stator compartment, can the stator burn itself out?

Maybe if the cover filled up.
Why? Do you have problems other than leaky seals?

yeah. It ran rough so I changed the reeds and cleaned the carb. Now it won’t start. Checked for spark. Spark seems to be week.

Reeds sealed tight.after you installed them? Can't see daylight through them?what did you set float hieght at?did you clean carb good blow out all passages.? See light thru jets.clean air filter good!! Just asking because those 2 things you did have nothing to do with spark.bike ran but ran roughly before the two changes.reed cages leak often on These.new gaskets? Tourqed correctly.if over tightend. Could be sucking air
