can i remove links on chain

my chain is stretched can i remove a few links to get by till i get a new one

Sure if you have the right tools. I usually grind off one of the 'connecting rods' and then use a punch to get it out. Then hook your master to your new link. Make sure you don't take off too many at once, removing one link actually takes off two.

Or you could use a chain breaker, but like he said, be careful how many links you remove.
