Im in the middle of a complete restoration on a blaster and was curious as to everyone's thoughts and opinions on bushings/bearings as they relate to the rebuild. Do you or must you replace all bushings and bearings during a rebuild or is it possible that these components could be cleaned, inspected, and reused if in satisfactory condition?

Let me know what y'all think.

Thanks!

I think you could look at them and decide if they are any good or not. Bushings I would just replace, bearings I might just clean and put some new grease on them.. Depends on how much cash you have too.

agree but if you got cash change evrithing so you would have a lots more year before getting cash of your pocket ,and a bearing and bushing and seal kit thats is verry good is (pivot work) cheap price and verry good component

Yup!!

You should put what you can afford into it. Bearings and seals are wicked important to a well balanced long living machine. The bushings are designed to help them and your ass enjoy those long years. If you have more money than God, rule of thumb is replace everything. If not, you need to prioritize.

Remember it's a system, a machine and all parts work together.

Luck!!

SWEET!!!

Nice rig!!

I feel your pain, though.

Nice pile of goodies and then you have to tweak it in.

Be patient, you got a smokin' good start. You take your time and learn the machine and get her tweaked in, it will be a monster over a stock ride. Thing will make you proud.

I'm real interested in the hyd. clutch. I think that will be a super sweet addition. The swing arm and shocks will make life on your butt a lot better. I kinda think it's self evident that at this point all bearings, seals and bushings are in line to be swapped out. You spent a sh*t pile of money, another couple a beans will only complete the job.

Nice set up. Interested in how just a stroke and no big bore will perform. I imagine it will be much torque'ier, fast as hell off the line, good mids, probably not major improvements up top, but a couple hundred cc's open wide is all about how you get there. You should have a very nice ride coming.

Keep us posted!!! PLEASE!!!!

**BTW, good luck and keep the ride on the down side looks wise. She will be a great sleeper. Looks wise it's hard to tell without another next to it. As the tail end fades in the distance, the money paid off. That said, she ain't the end all, but is a damn good upgrade. Real nice. Good to see someone care enough to buy in on a full scale.**

thanks for encouragement....the motor supposedly won 5 ATV nationals so it should be pretty snappy...had 185psi of compression on the cylinder when i checked it the other day, complete port and polish job on the cylinder and head was shaved too, custom diamond racing stroker crank....i cant wait to giver hell...

get all new bushings and bearings man, you dont want to rebuild, have something fail just b/c you didnt spend enough $$ the first time. I mean if you already speant all tha money on stuff that is just cosmetic you need to spend it on the right equipment first.

and eventually upgrade from the FMF.

yeah ive got a toomey i could put on it and swap that to the 240...whaddya think toomey better for the 216cc?? And yeah ive decided to replace all bearings, seals, and bushings ( actually I now think Im replacing the a-arms all together...going with burgard +3 +1's :) )
