On my last outing, i noticed a pretty bad knocking noise in the motor, then saw oil leaking out of my shifter seal, the noise is not bad when it first starts, but as it warms up it gets louder, also when im at high rpms the sound is the worst, but only when moving. It almost sounds like a deisel motor!
I recently just had a top end done with a new bore(60 over) and head shaved down .030, could more compression have blown out the seals in the bottom end, could i need new crank bearings and seals to fix that awful noise. has anybody had these simptoms before or something similiar! thanx guys!

I'd say that you've got a crank bearing going out, especially if it gets louder at higher rpm's.

well i had similar noise when engine idle'd down but it was just a lean air mix setting, plus i discovered a blown head gasket...

im running straight regular pump gas, which is about 83 or 85 octane, could that be too low for a milled head, ive heard that you have to run a higher octane or race fuel with the head milled more than .030, but could that make that noise im hearing?
