Good afternoon all. Looking for a bit of help, recently bought a 2003 blaster 200cc, went out for a ride earlier and it just suddenly bogged right down and cut out.

Managed to get it started again for it to go and do the same about 500m along. Once again got it started again amd did the same again.

Now it wont start at all. It tries to but just wont have it. Where is best to start with it all? Have noticed a slight rattle almost like the thing people say is piston slap. I didnt think it would even start if it was a case of piston being broken.

Any help would be great

After i got it started the second time the rattle was noticibly worse if that makes any difference

If it is rattling do not start it again, you could do more damage if the piston has dropped a skirt.

Leak test to see if it is air tight.

Pull the exhaust pipe and the carb and reed block off and look at the piston for signs of damage.

We will talk about what may have caused the problem after finding out if damage has occurred.

Air leaks and incorrect jetting can cause catastrophic engine failure.

Will start a strip down tomorrow. If i get time. Would compression test tell me anything or could that still do damage. Whats the worse case goimg to be

you need to leak test before you disassemble the engine, so you can tell if your engine issues were caused by a air leak.and if i were you i would not compression test it may cause further damage.and worst case is you will need a complete top and bottom end rebuild

If the skirt has dropped into the crankcase, and no damage has been done yet to the cases, one more kick could crack or puncture them.

Its oil injected at the moment. Have been thinking of removing it and doing premix instead. What are peoples views on that
