i have a 97 blaster that i am having trouble getting started. before i did anything but try to get it started it was leaking gas out of the overflow. so i took the carb apart and cleaned it out and put it back together and it still would not start. then i took the plug out and it was wet so i cleaned it off and put it back in and it cranked on the first kick(for about 30 seconds tops) i was able to start it about 4 or 5 more times but it would only run for a short time. after that i took the plug back out and it was wet again so i dried it and low and behold it started again. but i had the same problem......it kept bogging down after a few seconds. after doing this with the plug a few more times it decided it wasnt going to start anymore. so i looked at the carb again and it was flooded with gas again.....coming out of the overflow again. so i took that apart again and i cant even seem to get it to try to start but after a few minutes gas comes out of the overflow. im guessing that the float valve is gumed up but other than that i am at a loss and do not know where to go from here. thanks in advance

beforeI rebuilt my carb I had the same issues, tryed to adjust the float 5 times with no
luck. Turnes out It was a bad float valve, rebuilt and rejeted the carb, fired the first kick and ran like a champ since.

i took the carb apart again and the float was sticking.....so i tried that and still nothing....so my next try will probably be the float valve. thanks
