Blaster will not kick start but will pop start, what is wrong?

Hello, I recently bought a 2002 blaster ( my first ATV ) and i rode it for about 20 min turned it off put it away and the next morning it would not start. I did some google searching ( which always led me to this site. ) and found out it might be the ignition coil so i changed that and still nothing changed the spark plug still nothing changed the cdi and still no good I continued to search and found nothing. I took it to a local shop and had them check it out they told me it was my stator I had it replaced and everything was great I rode it from the shop about a mile up the road to my house around the neighbor hood a few times and then it shut off. I kicked and kicked but nothing. Now i could push start it or pop start it as i would like to call it and it would run great but not when i kick it. I did some more searching once again and found it might be a spring on the inside of the kicker so i took it apart and everything was in order ( i put it back but not the right way so i need help with that too ) I now have put 1300 into this blaster it still isnt running the way it should. Some one please help any advise would be appreciated or if some one would like to buy it ( My Zip is 12553 ) that would be great too im just fed up and dont know what else to do besides take it back to the shop and pay more money......

Or your rings are stuck to the side walls or there just bad but like brando said time for a new top end if you keep starting it from pulling your only making the top end worse. heres a easy way to see if you have compression take ONE finger (i use my pinkey or ring finger) and just see how easy you can push the kick starter down. if its super easy you need a rebuild if not and its kinda hard to push down then its wearing out prob almost time for a rebuild. if you cant push it down at all then you have compression no need for a rebuild

Sounds like low compression (i.e. needs a top end rebuild) to me. Should be able to do it yourself (it is really easy) for about $150. Do a compression test, if it is lower than 80 psi I would rebuild it. Get the cylinder bored and honed to the next size up from it's current state and order a piston kit off e-bay. I am getting my cylinder back in the morning and doing a rebuild on mine. Shouldn't take more than an hour. Good luck with yours. By the way it is getting bored .60 over!!!!! Can't wait to wax all my buddies asses!!!!

Hello, Thanks for your suggestions but i think my compression is good. Im not able to push the kicker with one finger but I can push it by hand, it has a normal push the way it always has. Idk about me doing the rebuild myself as im not familar with these machines, unless i can find a how to for dummies lol....

Putting a head on is easy I recently installed one on mine and it took maybe 2 hours tops including install of new piston, wrist pin and gaskets

I would go to ur local auto store and rent a compression gauge. I couldn't really tell from pushing the kicker that my old blaster needed a top end. U can do the test post the results and I'm sure within 2 mins u will have a answer
