Well I installed the TORS Eliminator kit from Vito's successfully on my 01 Yamaha Blaster. The issue I'm having now is adjusting this new throttle cable correctly so the idle screw actually adjusts the idle. For some reason the idle screw doesn't seem to be helping adjust the slide in the carb body. I know the screw is going into the body as I observed it myself when I took the carb apart. The instructions say to warm up the engine and screw in the idle screw all the way after holding the throttle at the desired idle, I did just that and i let the throttle go back down slowly and the engine just dies. I even tried screwing in the screw slowly once the slide was over it and still the same thing. I played around with the cable adjustment at both the top of the carb and at the throttle assembly but I really don't notice a difference. I have the thumb assembly cover off and I can see how the cables moving. Nothing I seem to do works, I could really use some help from you guys. The reason I installed this kit was the idle screw associated with the TORS system failed and I needed a way to adjust my idle.

on a stock carb, there should be no need to use the cable to adjust idle.
i believe i've seen members saying the vitos idle screw just wasn't long enuf to lift the slide ?
try removing the jamb nut just to see if it helps ?
if so, remove the screw and file more off the cast boss you drilled and tapped to allow it to enter the carb more.

you did file the boss flat didn't you ?
it is angled in stock form

Yep i filed the angle edge flat so the screw could sit against the hole, and the screw does go into the carb body correctly as I saw, Im pretty much clueless.

Well I realized I forgot to add I can feel the slide hitting the screw, I'm just really not sure whats going on.

...UUUMm quick question, I just bought a Elim. kit as well. I installed it on my stock carb and changed the jets out(added Toomey pipe). I dont have to do any drilling or anything else right? Just install the new cap and cable? I saw somewehere that you have to dril a hole into the carb?? I hope this is no the case

you most certainly have to file the boss flat, drill and tap a hole for the new idle screw, as you eliminated the tors idle screw...........

DIY idle screw install.......

you apparently bought the motion pro kit that doesn't include an idle screw ?

search ebay for "blaster tors idle screw kit"

Yeh i had that problem... I have a 28mm carb, which i think is a little bit deeper with where you drill the hole, and my screw is TOO short. I took a dremel to it and filed it flat after, but the "boss" (as they called it?) is now flush with the carb float body... I kid you not i grinded that thing for 2-3 hours

Well I filed the boss down much more, but the screw for some reason still won't hold the slide in place. I even tested this with a probe with the carb off, putting it through the idle screw hole and weirdly for some reason the slide still won't hold open, only unless I stick the probe in enough to hold up both sides, of the slide. I'm honestly so confused

Is there a wear mark on the slide where the screw touches it?

Did you ever look to see if the screw actually touches the slide?

If it does then it should lift it if there is no wear on the slide.

Post a picture of the screw, a clear one.

I can tell you if its the same short one i had to put in... My boss is level with the carb float body.
