my yamaha blaster has slowed down ever since i rebilt the topend and put the stock pipes back on it. i bored it .40 over so i think it should be faster right? plz help i dont understand why it has slowed down

Did you rejet for the stock pipe.

40 over will not give any more power over stock, it is only about a cc larger in displacement.

what pipe did you have on before? if you went back from a aftermarket pipe to stock, you will slow down. Boring your cylinder doesn't give you a noticeable power increase.

If it was not jetted to suit a FMF, it would have possibly running lean and pulling pretty well.

Motors running on the jetting edge will perform very well, but at a cost.

The motors do cook up quickly and require rebuilding, could that be the reason for your rebuild?

no my the side of the piston broke off i spend hours on cleaning it out i didnt want to have to split the case

You really should have split the cases and at least flushed out the bearings.

One cannot, and I repeat, cannot remove all the debris left by a broken piston by flushing without splitting.

Have you leak tested the motor since rebuild?

The shrapnel from the piston may have punched a small hole, or cracked the crankcase.

i do see to random spots on the bottom of the motor what will it do if it leeks

Find the leak and fix it. Just like a plumber would do I:I

Spray some soapy (little soap!) water on it with a spray bottle and pump the tester back up to 7lbs and find where new bubbles are forming I:I
