i have a 2003 yamaha blaster that i bought locked up and i had a complete motor rebuild for it. After i got the rebuild done i purchased a tors eliminator kit the blaster has stock exhaust and stock jets but after i installed the kit it will only run up in speed with the airbox lid removed i have a new airfilter and have cleaned the carb a few times and i have adjusted the mixture screw but it didnt change anything i do not know if i need to adjust the clip on the needle but i do not understand it because it is all stock and it ran good before i put the kit on. Thanks.

whats your elevation ?
sea level and mile high denver colorado require vastly different jetting for the correct air/fuel ratio

Have you checked the float level. You can always plug chop to ensure your jetting is right. Sounds like its running rich if increasing airflow makes it run better.

Sounds like you could use this http://www.blasterforum.com/threads/downloadable-yamaha-blaster-manual.17325/ I pulled this from another thread
the stock idle screw is located on the tors box on top of the carb, accessed under the seat, look under the rubber flap right under the back of the fuel tank, nickel sized screw w/ straight blade slot.

you may also want to:
clean/reoil your air filter
clean your carb:http://www.blasterforum.com/threads/how-to-clean-your-carbureutor.254/unread
check float height while in there: http://www.blasterforum.com/threads/float-heights-and-how-to-adjust-them.50565/
check your airscrew setting:http://www.blasterforum.com/threads/adjusting-your-airscrew-pilot-jet.51060/

all above can effect idle

Did you drill and tap a new idle screw onto carb when eliminating tors

You have had the carb apart to fit the TORS kit, could you have by chance upset the float level setting.

Stock jetting for a Blaster in US should #230 main, #32.5 pilot and the clip on the middle setting on the jet needle.

The above is what the Blaster come with stock, if your elevation, humidity or temperature is excessive either way the stock jets may not cut rubber.

do i bend the tab on the floats in or facing out of the carb to have less fuel in the bowl

do i bend the tab on the floats in or facing out of the carb to have less fuel in the bowl

with the floats in the carb, bend it down in toward the carb for less fuel, out away from carb for more fuel
