Yes the quad will start but it starts hard after maybe like 10 kicks and it rolls around fine.. is it supposed to be hard to adjust the clutch it turns very weird? When I had the pressure plate off I noticed the rod was blued from heat could that mean something? when I put it together the dots lined up correctly on the plate and basket

I put a tusk clutch in it it didn't make a a difference once you let off the clutch it moves so slowly I was able to ride it around the block an shift but at a top speed of 10mph when I replaced the clutch I didn't take out the ball or the other rod I didn't know how to

If the end of the rod you took out is heat blued there is a chance that the ball has disintegrated and has welded itself to the other rod.

If the ball has lost dimensions it could be stuck up causing it to foul and stick.

on another note..you should do a compression test to,check and clean your carb ...or whatever is making you kick it 10 times to start it :) how much and what type of tranny fluid are you putting in it?

I just replaced both of my clutch rods. They were purchased brand new from the dealer, and both had the blue color on them. I believe that is normal.

If the ball is welded to the rod how do I take that rod out? And would it really make it ride slow with no power? Also I got mixed reviews on what oil to put in it some say 10-30 is fine others say ATF type f I put 10-30 to just test the new clutch

You would probably be able to see a rough spot on one of the rods if the ball was welded to it.

rod-ball-rod

so you would have had to take it out. And did you get a new ball? they are just a ball from a bearing

Thanks speedy ill use that oil once I can get my blaster working correctly but u guys think a welded ball could give it no power? also when I was doing my clutch I noticed the clutch still spun by hand even when the lever wasn't depressed is it supposed to do that?

In my opinion 20w 40 is too heavy for a small clutch pack like the Blaster has.

10w30 or Auto trans fluid type F is where you should be.

Besides oil I still need to figure what's wrong with it if the rods welded themselves together would the clutch not grab?
