Hey I got a quick question. My yamaha blaster is smoking. Its not smoking a lot but its probably smoking more than it should. The top end was just rebuilt so I know its not the rings. I don't know if its smoking because the jetting is off. Any ideas?

I was told after I got my rebuild done, the mechanic put some oil in the gas tank and I had the oil injection too, just so that the new parts were getting very lubricated, and it was very boggy and not very responsive cus I was still breaking it in.

The crank seal is a round seal that goes around your crank to keep the oil from your tranny from getting in around the crank shaft. If this happens you will know b/c I just went through it. It will smoke really bad and smell like burt motor oil if that is what you are using for tranny oil. Depending on what kind or 2 stroke oil and how you mix it has a lot to do with how much it smokes. I use Lucas Simi Synthetic and mix it at 32-1 and it doesn't smoke very much at all but when I ran out i put in a 1/2 gallon of some I had mixed for my chain saw and it smoked like crazy. Hope this helps

hmmm. after i had this bearing problem, and when i took it apart, there was some thick oil in the bottom of the cranks spot. i just fluffed it off thinking it was just excess oil left in there, but could that be crank oil? im taking it all apart anyway so ill just check all seals

its pretty simple really, if your getting blue smoke thats your premix/injector oil burning off...if its white smoke its a bad crank seal or case halves are leaking...
