Hi everyone! New here.
OK so I got a stock 2001 blaster that I just replaced the crank seals and rebuilt the top end. Its got a thing were anything above 1/2 throttle or anything in 4th or above it bogs and backfires. It did this just before the rebuild and now after. It also did this before and after the new crank seals.
I thought it could be the TORS so I removed it, still the same. I then thought it could be a reed issue so I inspected it and it checked out ok but just for the heck of it I flipped the reeds. I've cleaned the carb out twice now and also removed the airbox lid and bumped the 230 jet to a 250. I've checked the woodruff key and its still good. I haven't done a leakdown yet but did before the rebuild and it checked in ok also.

Well what do you think guys? Any help is appreciated!I:I

"UPDATE"

I just changed the plug and guess what, IT WORKED!!!:o This should have been the first thing I did but it looked good so I thought it couldn't be it. Boy was I wrong but I'm happy it works again.

Welcome to the forum and glad you got it fixed. Plugs can be funning. I had a no spark do to a bad plug that only had 5 minutes of use. The tip wasn't even dirty yet.

Good to see you got it fixed and checked the basics. Do a leak test and make sure there's no new leaks since u replaced the seals and had the reeds out. You may want to plug chop to confirm jetting. List your mods and we can get you close.
