I have a 2002 blaster, my uncle took it for a spin down the gravel road and wrapped it out. The blaster bogged down and died, wouldn't start after that. Took it home put a new spark plug in it, no spark. So I got to reading on here and took off the TORS, after that, it has a strong blue spark. I thought that would do it but I guess not. It has the same compression as when it was running, gas is getting to the carb. (not sure how to see if it's getting past that). It doesn't act like it wants to start and it will backfire a few times, other than that, nothing. I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance

Sounds like ignition coil went bad. To check the coil use a multimeter and read the ohms on back side of coil between orange wire and ground connection. Should be 1.6-1.8 ohm. Read from Spark plug connector to orange wire. Should be close to 16K ohms.

Well I guess I didn't really notice the compression loss, it wasn't ever very hard to kick in the first place. I took a look at the piston and there was a chip on the very top on one side and the rings were loose as hell and it didn't look like it they should be that loose? So I went ahead and ordered a new piston and rings, as well as gaskets, bearing, and circlips. The jug had one little gouge so the guys at the shop said to just hone it real good. So hopefully this will get me up and goin again. Also, will I have to check on anything or change anything after the rebuild? Thanks for the replys guys!
