Big issue with idle

This has nothing to do with idle but i beleive(correct me if i'm wrong) your main might be a little small for the pipe and the open air box. Should be good for just the pipe, but usually 1 to 2 more sizes up for open air box

Ok the filter had alot of junk in it. there was even metal shavings? anyway I cleaned it out backwashed it with carb spray both ways and its all clean now.did the same with the tank.( i have carb spray by the gal.) I took the carb off and cleaned it out.pilot jet was a little plugged. I might even take off the reeds tonight just to see if thats a problem.thanks again guys for all your help.

Well the reeds are in good shape so their not the problem so im going to put everything back together and try it out again.

I would check for air leaks around the reed cage and intake boot after it is all put back together. My intake boot was leaking super fast even with the gasket.

how did the reed petals lay on the cage, nice and flat i hope or thats trouble

well after everything was put back together it still wouldnt start. Now it sounded like a backfire everytime. Sure enough the flywheel key was sheared off. Replaced it and now it runs like a champ.sort of.(still needs fine tuning)Thanks again guys for all your help.
