im in need of a new topend rebuild, i want more performance at the same time, should i do an la sleeve 240 kit, if so what does headwork and resleeve cost, or should i do the next up bore size and do a 3mm stroker, cause my rod has a little side to side play, but the shaft main bearings are in great shape, i can do all the work myself except for the machining, i need other peoples opinions who know from experience!!!!!!!, please help, no one responded to my other thread :(

From what ive heard, stroker kits or whatever give better performance compared to big bore kits

is there any machining required with a 3mm srtoker at all?, i noticed my piston is really close to the top being stock, will the piston hit the head with a 3mm stroker? thx for your help guys an gals

No, 3mm don't need any machining, the 4s u have to trench the case, but i belvie the 3's come with a little spacer plate or somthing.

really?, if so u just relieved a little of my stress, i was worried about the crank going while riding until i could afford a new stroker

i would but im a full time college student, and just lost my job today with only a month left in the semester, and im planing on using my check from the irs so i have around 300 to spend, my mom is helping me out with some suspension parts but motor is up to me, i convinced here that the suspension is a saftey and stability situation and she understood what i meant, i weigh 240 so a blaster isnt the right strength for me but its fun to ride.

Hey I had the same problem Im not a small guy 6'1'' and 215 i swaped out the rear shock for a heavy duty one. it is a night and day differnce. If you do stroke and bore I would love to know $$$ and performace when ur done.

if i could afford the 240 and stroker i would definately do it, i think im gonna go for the 3mm stroker and the next bore for sure, after that i will be getting a pipe and reeds and the 240 will some day make it on to the blaster. or ill skip the stroker for now and go with the pipe reeds and new bore over. lol im so indecisive!

get the stroker and bore it up
wait til next summer and get the full ct kit reeds 240 carb intake boot pipe all that sh*t the whole 9 yards
thats what u wanna do

By saying pipe and carb, do you mean switching to a racing carb or something?

yea, i picked up an LRD pipe and a uni filter and i rejetted and the difference is amazing, but i think im gonna go with a stroker and a larger carb next, oh and of course some vforce 3's
