Just seen this ad for a big bore kit for a yfs200.
Guy says sleeve in the jug got cracked and its possible to resleeve it?
Is this true and if so how much to put the sleeve in?
Thanks

Ahh the new sleeve for the 240 is 129.95 but it's out of stock..errr lol.
But this guy is only selling what he has which is cylinder, head and piston for $50

Hmm what to do..
Just bought this 2000 Blaster.
Motor was ran without oil and locked up breaking the piston skirt off.
Said it was knocking but I think its just the skirt inside the crankcase..
I got a whole stock bottom end I'm bidding on Ebay.
Just don't want to spend too much money and make the GF throw a fit lol.

There are different sleeves for different heads.Vitos makes a 240 for the stock cylinder,a 240 for the 240 kit with the 12 port design.L.A. Sleeve makes them for stock and their 240 kit.Just make sure when you get it you purchase it for the right application.Good luck

good point .. i would be hesatant on buying any jug with a bad sleeve or if its 80 over already ...at that point its a paper weight and has no value

Well even if this jug is bad couldnt I just get a machine shop to install a 240 sleeve in my jug?

junk jug -60-70 bucks
bb piston kit -130
bb gaskets -30
modify the stock head for the 72mm bore-60ish
sleeve -130ish
installation -maybe 150 ish
all the extra shipping costs involved -who knows

sure but by the time your al lsaid and done youll be up paying nearly what a bb kit costs and the pressed in sleeves arent nearly as good as having a real 12 port design jug especialy if you dont plan to port it

You say they make new sleeves for a stock bore? do you have to get an aftermarket jug that can be resleeved? i've had my motor apart a couple times and didn't realize that the stock motor has a sleeve in it

well I was originally just saying that I found a guy selling his big bore kit which includes; head, cracked cylinder/jug, and piston. so I was just going to resleeve that jug with a bb sleeve.

I do 240cc sleeve kits for $425 That includes head redesign and porting. If anyone says that a sleeve 240cc kit lacks power they do not have the knowledge or dyno numbers to back it up...........
Kit would include piston and gaskets

Yes it is reliable and it works very well. There is additional work involved like the removal of the OEM sleeve, boring the cylinder to fit the sleeve and cutting the cylinder head. It is a cheaper way to go, but some people would prefer a new cylinder and head. It’s up to the consumer.
