aight i know may other people asked this question already and alot of time they say use the calculator but that really dnt help me i want hads on experiance who ran what the type of riding i do is hills sometimes and alot of trails so i like the power and tourqe but dnt wana loose alot of top end so im basiclly looking for more tourqe whats best senario my blaster is bored .30 over intake lid removed jetted for it and premix 32:1 have a procircuit header on order and just gotta get a slip on for it too so any help would be appreciated

i think yamaha nailed it with the stock 13/40 gearing on a stockish engine, mostly trail riding

it just feels like not enough tourqe takes little bit to hit power band then it kind of bogs out of 4th gear like takes a whil to get thru the gear

sounds like jetting, carb cleaning or airleak troubles to me ?

you could always go to a 12 tooth front sprocket for more torque

i have open air box with a k&n filter and board 30 over and premix so i have a 250 main jet in it now how much top end will i loose if i drop to a 12 in front sprocket tho will i notice it alot

I checked my plug and its fine almost like a paper bag brown so not lean or too rich

that 250 may not be large enuf for the open box and K&N ?
a proper plug chop is the only way, not just looking at the plug after riding it, as all jetting ranges apply color to the plug.
you want to do just 1 wide open plug chop to confirm the main jet, worst case is start going bigger and see how it reacts.
this is if all other maintainence is up to par...carb clean, air filter clean, floats adjusted correctly, airscrew set for high idle ect. ect.

i gained prolly 10-15mph on top when going to 14/40 gearing, i hated in the trails so went back to 13/40,
so i'd say expect a 10-15 mph loss on top when going down to 12/40

I did a plug chop but road it this past weekend it was in the 30s maybe 40s and it was breaking up really bad in 3 rd gear do I have to rejet to ride in winter i did a full rebuild and clean

yes, you have to rejet and plug chop for colder temps

Ok ill prolly have to go bigger main jet like up a size or too felt like wasn't getting enough fuel and what's best way to get more low end power from these blasters I was thinking of dropping rear tire size down and leaving the 13 40 ratio gears will that help my low end or just pull front end up more than it already does

yes, smaller tires (18's) will also gear it lower

If I drop one tooth in front I'm gonna loose alot of top end ? I still want the bike to get out of its own way I'm a bigger guy I just trying to get opinions from people who have tryed the diffent options so if I jump to the 14/40 will I notice a huge difference in like tourque loss
