I bought a non running blaster. Gas sat in it from last year so I took the carb apart and cleaned it. I saw the needle jet was slightly bent. I bent it back a little and put it back. It wasn't kicking over so I tried to pop start it. It runs when you pop start it but only really runs at full throttle. It dies at idle. If you go to kick it over after it was running it runs for about 5 seconds and dies. What should I do next? Does the needle jet need to be replaced?

If the jet needle is bent you should replace it as it may jam the slide up and cause a runaway.

Check the compression, and leak test it before you start it again.
