My friend has a 2000 blaster that he recently put bearings and seals in. I noticed the other day that his axle was clearlly not aligned properly.Im having trouble aligning the carrier ... it seems like there is a lot of play where the two carrier bolts go through it. should there be bushings in there???

there is no bushing. check to make sure your swingarm bearings are good. the swingarm is straight, the "ears" for the carrier can get bent. also make sure the bolt holes in the carrier are not elongated.

They have a small amount of play in the bolts anyway so that the bolts can slide in and out of the carrier for disassembly. What holds the carrier in place anyway are the adjuster ears and the clamping action between the swingarm ears and the ends of the carrier anyway. The bolts just hold those ears tight.

take some pictures if you can. i had a carrier where the ends were not flat. had to weld on some material then drill the hole back out. it worked great.
