base gasket

well i just figured out why my wheeler sounded different and i got to looking at it and found my base gasket was blow. Is this a common problem with the 2 strokes??? And what do u suggest i do when other than the gaskets while i have it apart???

cometic makes copper base gaskets they also make coated steel ones ,coated paper gaskets might as well be toilet paper .under pressure ,if it can blow it will blow

when I got my blasty it was missing the base gasket. somebody thought that silicone would do just fine.

i did notice it was paper and i thought they were generally some sort of metal. well thank you for informing me that it wasnt anything major that happend.
