my 05 blaster starts every 20 kicks or so , then runs really bad and is backfiring and it shuts off right away when i let of the gas all the way. i took off the carb and cleaned it, cleaned the air filter and tube from air filter to carb. i cannot possibliy think whats wrong with it and ive tried everything. ive adjusted the idle screw and air to fuel mixture screw. Can't figure out how to remove my TORS because it is different than older models but i did disonnect a wire related to TORS and still had the same problem so i don't think its the TORS. i just can't figure this out. thanks. .trying to sell it but need to get it running.

on the newer bikes the tors is inside the cdi box just follow the wires then disconnect them right where they come out of the cdi u will see once u trace them then splice those two wires together.Backfireing is usually an air leak or warped reeds check ur reeds and do tors and let us know

i did diconnect it and the same thing happened.

did you retorque the head gasket after letting it run and warm up? aluminum will balloon and always requires a second torqueing...

is the bike jetted? what about compression is it effortless to kickstart? hows all wire connections..

its jetted with the toomey kit
wires are all connected and good
there is alittle less compression im going to check that
tomorow but i dont think ive lost enough compresion
to cause failure in starting. there is also a knocking
sound come from in or near the engine, no idea...
im trying to sell it but need to get it runnin.
getting the all black raptor 250 SE custom.
hopefully soon
