Well i got my 200 dollar blaster engine back together. I have some questions though. I went through a procedure i found on here to clean and place the piston into the jug. success! Im afraid i may have over torqed the head bolts though. i slowly brought them down until they felt firm so the copper gasket could seat flat. I dont have a torque wrench, could this be a problem? Also i noticed the TORS system is still on the carb, does it matter if it is there? What are the advantages adn disadvantages of it? Thatll do it for now.

Biggest dis advantage of the TORS is that it will malfunction when you're 20 miles from the truck. Unplug the box in the front. The switch on the carb or throttle will wear out and tell the brain that the throttle is stuck.
As to the head , as long as you tightened in sequence around head and in stages and have a good "feel" you may be alright. Try hitting up Autozone or such that have a "loaner tool" program.

Ya i got a good touch, prolly around 15lbs is what it felt like and jumped around on the bolts. As fo tors, just unhook the box in the front and it is eleminated?

Borrowed torque wrench from neighbor and on the money! Funny I'm a welder too.
Couple kicks later and started right up. What is the proper oil amount for the gear box?
