got my 8 yr old into them this january. up to 6 trucks now

1 Traxxas Slash 4x4 Platinum (Ian's indoor race truck) 11.1v 3C lipo velineon brushless
2 Traxxas Slash 2x4 (our street/pavement bashers) both brushed
1 Team Associated SC10 (Momba brushless 11.1v 3C lipo), my indoor race truck
1 Team Associated RC10T3 stadium truck. My other indoor race truck. Brushed
1 Axial AX10 Scorpion Crawler (not used much but indoors when it's raining)

We spend ever week (either Thursday or Friday) evening at the indoor track. Waiting for it to dry up so we can go race some outdoor tracks for a lil variety.

Demo ------> If you are thinking of a truck for him, take a look at the Traxxas Rustler (brushed 2.4Ghz). It doesnt require any special tools and most can be taken apart with a Phillips headed screw driver. you can buy em new for $180

If I had the money I'd be interested. But I'm broke right now. What do you think about the r/c's with weed eater engines. I heard their a little slower but alot more affordable, idk.

If you're talking about the Baja that HPI-Racing has been putting out, there pretty expensive.

i'm into electrics, i have a old rc10 that my dad raced when he was a kid that is currently in need of a rebuild completely, and my raminator 1/18th needs some custom servo work, i'm thinkin of gettin a traxxas summit, its completely waterproof!

thats a real nice toy. a nice EXPENSIVE toy. i was looking to buy my 7 y/o son one but they cost too damn much!

I would recommend getting him into electric, as much fun as the little nitro's are, electric is starting to pass it. Its kind of like how 4-stroke is to 2-stroke now :( ..plus they are a lot cheaper and less maintenance!

The Nitro's are a lot more fun to work on imo though, I hate to give mine up but I have a platinum revo also (I really don't need both now that I have gotten a Blaster). Plus, I need money for Blaster parts!! I:I

the 1/16th VXL editions traxxas has now are fun little rc's! Brush-less pretty much has taken over the market in the RC world.
