when i buy this 05 blaster the person said the piston was changed can i open it up just to check everything out without ruining anything or having to put new gaskets on?

You could pull exhaust off and be able to see into cyl, and see skirt on ex side. You will see if there is any cross hatching left or scoring/gouges on piston.

Anytime you pull the head you need new gaskets, or atleast anneal the h.g.

ok thanks for the advice, i think i will try to see it through the exhaust. seems like its the easiest

Not worth the risk in using a used head gasket, even if it is annealed.

The correct annealing process to adequetly soften the copper causes scale which must be removed, and removing the scale produces pits in the copper.

The pits are detremental to the sealing process as they will not mate with the head and jug surfaces.

If ya do decide to take the head off, just spend the few bucks to get a new gasket, Will save ya in long run!
