Nowhere to ride, connecticut
Hey guys. I just got a 2001 blaster two days ago and so far i love it. You gotta love the two strokes. I actually traded my lifted jeep wrangler YJ for this quad. My jeep was pretty hacked up as i cut off alot of the metal with a sawzall to fit big ass tires without that big of a lift. It was a trail only rig so it never really seen street time. My blaster im hacking up right now as well. I took off the front fenders, removed the light, about to cut up the rear fenders as well. It has a stroker crank, big bore kit ( not sure what you guys call it, but its a 240cc now ) and it has a pipe. Im going to post pictures up within a day or two.

Right now its starting to act funny when i hammer down on the throttle. When i hammer down the engine revs loud as hell but it doesnt go any faster. Could it be the clutch is slipping? Im not really too sure. Im in the process of reading the manual so i can properly maintain this thing.

If anyone from CT wants to go riding just IM me or send me a PM or whatever.

And if someone could maybe diagnose the problem that would be pretty sweet. Thanks guys.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Im from Derby. Its like 5 minutes from New Haven.

Does anybody have a clue as to whats going on with my Blaster? I asked my friend who rides dirtbikes and he says it could be the tranny. I personally dont think its the tranny thats acting up, but then again im not too sure. The previous owner always shifted without using the clutch; He just popped it into the next gear at high RPM. Im thinking that shifting f*#@^d something up.

EDIT: The high revving and no acceleration happens in 1st,2nd,3rd,4th, and sometimes 5th gear.

welcome, it sounds like the clutch is slipping a bit, or possible the the tranny gears are worn from hard shifting. what kind of tranny fluid are you useing?

I went to go take a look at my quad and i see that the case was leaking oil pretty badly. Im going to open up the case and take a look at the internals this weekend to see if there is any damage.

What kind of tranny oil do you guys recommend? And another question: Can i use liquid gasket to seal up the case or do i need the actual gasket. For my jeep I always used liquid gasket for everything but i obviously want to make sure its ok to use on my quad.

Just checking if any of these pics work. I only had 1 picture left on my camera unfortuntly.
