Welcome to the forum bro.
Not bad, looks like a good foundation for a nice build up/restore.

These bikes are easy/cheap to work on and certainly give back twice the love you put into um.

As for the leak, as recommended, keep on it, do a thorough search of the under casings. Maybe put it up on the wheelie bar and power wash the underside, to really get all the yuck off and be able to check out what is going on, look for cracks/leaks, etc.

As for the rear brakes, you always have the hydro conversion route, but those mechanical brakes can work pretty nice if properly configured. I have the best rear mechanical brake in town!!! (new upgraded ceramic pads, ebrake delete with Vito's +4 rear cable re-routed and adjusted, etc.)

My brakes work perfectly, nice and tight and responsive and lock up easily on demand if needed. All this for a couple hours of my time and about $35 in parts, can;t beat that. One day would probably go to the hydro conversion but do not fix was is not broken, right???? Have plenty of other places to spend my $$$ on for sure.

As for the color scheme, remember what has color can be painted. There is a kick a$$ rattle can product out there for plastics, we have all used it and it works great. Called Krylon Fusion, comes in tons of colors and works perfect for blaster fenders/plastic, etc. Just be sure to prep the plastic correctly first and you will be overly impressed with the final product. We have all changed/modified our color schemes to our liking at least a few times before, haha. Also Powder coating is nice for the blasters as well for frame and other metal parts, etc.

Welcome bro, have fun, keep us posted and rock the F on!!!! I:I
