I am a newbie to the atv world. I just purchase my first atv an 01 blaster. I have not taken it out yet, but plan to in two weeks. I have ridden atvs in the past and I enjoy jumping them off of dunes. Early this morning I was searching info about modding my front and rear shocks and rear axles. I have read that I can use banshee front shocks, 400ex rear shocks and banshee rear axles, but the info I found was not clear on years. I know the blaster has a narrow wheel base and would like to widen it. I read the banshee axles will offer me the +2 in the rears, I was also looking at wheel spacers and spacer lug extenders. Does anyone know if they will work with my app? All I want is an atv that can handle and take some minor beating without spending an arm, leg and a pinky toe. If anyone can help please let me know, thanks.

are you trying to say that the 400ex rear shock comes with an external reservoir? And how about running wheel spacers in the front and rear, will It help my atv handle better? If so what should be recommended? I was thinking +3 in front and +5 in the rear. Can someone help me please. Thank you.

Wider is better for stability of course, and the 400ex reservoir is built in I do believe, but type it in on ebay, and youll get a bunch of pics.

You can gain a little up front by turning your wheels around if that hasn't been done yet.

The stuff you are talking about will help the blaster, isn't necessary to ride, but will help it out widening its stance.

You could get a Diamond J Front end widening kit that can widen your front end 6 inches and you can also get it with a shock conversion kit that will allow you to use just about any shock you want on it. Most popular is the YFZ 450 shocks... You can use I think a 1986 and above Honda 250R rear shock or I think any 400ex, KFX400, or a LTZ400 rear shock. Those 3 are all the same shock. I just got my KFX400 for $22.00 on ebay. You have to do a little of your own engineering to get it on but from what I hear it isn't to bad and is well worth it.

i have +5" wheel spacers and they work fine for me. they were cheap and quick. i plan on getting a wider axle and arms later, but that will cost some $$$. there are alot of different shocks to get. alot get the 400ex. i have banshee fronts and a YFZ450 rear. here is a link for some stud type wheel studs. i have them and have yet to have a problem. i got front and rear for $70
