My lad was ripping on my 250 Atomic Feral workhorse, followed closely by an inexperienced mate on the Blaster,

My lad hit a bump and the Chinamans back shock came apart dropping the spring, which bounced and was pelted upwards narrowly missing his mates head.

There has to be a moral here, so let's have some quotes.

I think the moral is I wont order them shocks as funny you posted this as I was just looking at some china made shocks, guess I will get the mid range good shocks. Thanks for posting this.

The back shock has worked well for years, until it exploded.

The front ones only lasted about a month, one siezed up the other went all sloppy.

Very lucky shock, the very next pass accross the 1 acre, long grassed block, found all the parts to reassemble it.

Talk about a needle in a haystack.

"Chinamans" Haha that cracked me up. My Grandpa always used to tell us when we were eating Mandarin oranges, "I love them things but ever time I eat them, I can't help but see some Chinaman in rags with longgg fingernails peelin' them and tossing them in a can." Hahaha but anywho, yeah those Chink shocks are piles of pooey. :p

The bike is 6 years old and just about every nut and bolt has been replaced or taken off and been replaced with a dab of Loctite.

There are numerous additions of metal on the frame and a stack of rewelds.

It took the 6 years for the back shock to unscrew internally and drop the spring and retaining plate.

The only thing on the bike which has not had a wrench on it is the motor, we have beaten it ruthlessy but it has never faltered, is noiseless and blows no smoke.

Exactly why after 4 years of buying Chinese imports bikes and quads i went for a blaster. and i wouldn't go back. the only import id ever go back to but as a spare bike. would be a skyteam as it was the only reliable thing i had and i paid £50/$75 for it. never failed me once only thing i ever changed over a year period was the carb rubber manifold as it had a split in it. i had a bashan quad i bought off a mate and it went up in flames on me lol

This old Atomic Feral was bought as a workhorse to drag a grader around the little track we have, and sometimes we ride it for fun.

You bet, but there will be a drop of Loctite on the threads and the nut, it was just about the only part that did not get the Loctite treatment because it was internal.

But we may just use it as a workhorse only, not for fun riding.

Yup helmets are compulsulary in our neck of the woods.

I think the bike will be kept away from the fast lane, can't afford that spring thing to happen again.
