Air filter boot for 34mm carb?

I got the intake boot to go to the engine for my 34mm carb. Now what did other people do to get the air filter side to fit the bigger carb?

It doesn't seem like that metal would clamp though? :-/

You run a bead of silicone around the carb and still on. The silacone glues it to the carb. I really had to work to get it off.

Ahha, I gotcha, and that just clamped right onto the boot? Wouldn't that extra space for the metal adapter make it so the boot was too long? Or did it adjust just fine?

Don't know. Never used it. I have a CFM air box.
