no, just make sure u pay special attention to ur air filter, cleaning or replacing it on regular basis, thats were that engine breaths so keep ur airfilter clean and youll have no probs!
 
it does make a power difference... but if you want max power from going "lidless" throw a good filter in first (uni/k&n) and you will most likely have to rejet when you do this... one size up on the main should do the trick, two tops
 
i bet u have to go more than 2. stock is 230. if you take the lid off and run a aftermarket pipe ur supposed to be somewhere around 350 is what my jetkit says


around 350?? that is waaaay too high for a stock motor/carb (what altitude are you in..lol) ... if ur running a FMF they label their main jets differently than what the true size is. i run a 300 "true" in mine with no problems at all, with all my mods. removing a lid is a small mod... a full pipe mod, is like apples and oranges to going lidless. not even in the same category.. so i am correct when i say 2 sizes up tops for removing a lid.
 
do you mean a 300 main jet only? the toomey kit comes with a 310 main jet, so would i have to change other jets like pilot, needle and slow when i install it? i'm guessing you don't have to, but i'm not sure.
