After all the responses to my other post HEADLIGHT KEEP BLOWING the general concensus is that my voltage regulator is probably bad so I need to check my voltage regulator. What's the correct way to go about checking it. Do I use the DC setting on the multimeter and read the voltage at the bulb socket while the blaster is running and the headlight is turned on? If the handlebar switch is on the low setting and what should it read and when on the hi setting what should it read?

the best way to check a voltage regulator is to buy a new one. set your meter to AC volts and check, find the specs on the light bulb and compare. or just ohm it out most; VR's are like 2 or 3 ohms anything less and theyll start killin bulbs.

im not 100% on the blaster VR just guessing.

Well I swapped the voltage regulator and headlight is fine.

Here's your AC/DC ............turn up the volume...................
