A technical question about the choke?

Okay everyone, I’m in need of a little advice please.

It’s been a while, but I’m back on the blaster hype, I have a 2007 (uk still had them in 07) and recently purchased a mint 2003 blaster, like only a few hours on it mint.

Now here is the issue, they both run absolutely fine and idle, but the 07 when you pull the choke out, increase the rpm, the 03 when you do the same just dies. I have swapped carbs over and the same happens, so that rules out reeds or a leak in the motor, just carb related.

So should a blaster increase rpm with the choke pulled out? Does it work by increasing the amount of fuel, or restricting the air?

I have sonic cleaned the 2003 carb and just doing the 2007 carb to ensure both are spotless, but I don’t know which carb is behaving as it should and which is playing up? I would have thought the choke should increase rpm rather than cause it to die straight away or not start?

Any help would be much appreciated

Cheers
