Yesterday, while riding, I heard a pretty loud pinging coming from the top end. I parked it. Today, I went to see if it would do it again, and sure enough, when I got on the gas down the street, it started doing it again. Plus, I have no mid or top end power. It just won't go, and the that's when the pinging starts, when I try to get on the gas. It will start and idle fine and does not make the noise if you rev it while sitting still. Could it be the rings? I have not done a compression test, but I am pretty sure there is a crack in the left side engine case. It has been leaking 2 stroke oil since I got it running about three months ago. Also, I know it needs crank bearings. I replaced the crank seal behind the stator and while doing that, I noticed that you could move the crank a little up and down. This is my first Blaster but I always have been able to fix anything. I just don't know much about 2 strokes. Yet. Thanks. Sorry about the long thread, but I am trying to be as thorough as I can in describing the problem.

sounds like you know whats wrong with it alreadyfix the crack might be causeing an airleak...fix the crank bearings do a compression check and check the plug to see what color it is

Hopefully the new used case half is in decent shape. if the mains were toast the crank was bouncing around, if the crank bounces around it beats out the the case around the bearing and also causes an airleak from the crank seal.
