iposted on here alittle bit ago about not having any spark.I then disconnected the tors i know have spark but I cant get to fire.does the tors need to be hooked up in order to run.if not what else can I try? this is my first blaster and dont know anything about them.thanks

the tors only cuts spark, we solved that, have you tried a new plug ??
petcock on ??
is it getting fuel ??? to the carb, and to the cylinder ?
have you cleaned the carb ?

yes it has new plug pet weiner on,put a new needle and seat in it 2 days ago, carbs freshly cleaned and it's a 88.it's getting fuel to carb but how do I chec to see if it's getting to cylinder?

plug will be wet when pulled

did you check the float level while in there ???
try tapping the carb with a screw driver handle, maybe floats just hung up a little

did you give the reeds a quick look ....all 4 petals in good shape, no cracks/chips/laying flat ???

smell the plug and look at it. check your plug gap. sorry for the dumb what year question it's right in your title. was it running before??? what led up to the problem

k thanks i will try that.if it's not, then where do i go from there?do I have to pull carb again and clean it again.

ya it was running before(great) put a new needle and seat in it then no spark.found out it was the tors box.now I have spark.but now it wont start,I'm going to go out and check plug and go from thereI guess

do you have a set of calipers so you can measure the float level? if it won't start and you have fuel to the carb and your jets and circuts in the carb are all clean it has to be a float or reed issue. have you checked the reeds out? pull the carb and stick your finger in there and make sure all the pedals are there.

replacing the needle and seat makes me think it's a float issue or somethin got in there when ya had it apart

check the float setting(20-21.5mm) measured like this..........
4785-float-height.jpg

bend the little tab in the middle a little at a time till you get it right

check them reeds while you have the carb off

k iwill check that out also.i dont have any calipers.but I did notice when I changed the needle and seat, when the carb was upside down the float was much lower then what it was when I put the new needle in.it brought the float up a bunch.do you know the settings for the float?

that is the picture awk just posted. you need a set of calipers to measure it properly. it is not the easiest thing tomeasure either so you will probably need a walk through. you can get a set or metric calipers for 15bux. you have to have them

i always use that metal ruler (as seen above) that i marked mm's onto
