i would never go near a chevy,plus the mods i was planning on the 350 would'nt touch me i was looking for close to a 400hp ranger and maybe some spray

Hmm I had a Tuned Port fuel injected 350 in my S10 putting out 407 rwhp according to the dyno. That was rear wheel horsepower not at the flywheel. Not sure where you are drawing your conclusion but the SB chevy and ford are pretty comparable engines. Brand bias aside.
