I have a blaster and it needs a new crank so I was thinking about going with the Vito's +3mm. My question is would I have any problems with it since my timing is advanced 4 degrees? Haven't had the head machined so was planning on going with the spacer

I advanced the plate. I would never use one of those piece of crap keys. I knew a few guys that had em and broke after a week or so

I have the vitos +3 in one of my bikes with timing advanced and no problems..also got it ported and head cut also..but flotek did it and still run the spacer plate!! I just put it together the way denny recommend...

The key should not be blamed for breaking, poor fitting tapers or incorrect tension on the fastening nut causes key breakage.

All the key does is to permit correct location of the flywheel on the shaft, the tensioning of the press fit on the tapers holds the flywheel fast.

The guys who fitted the keys that broke must have done it wrong.

I see no reason why a +4 timing should not work well with a stroked engine, after all the piston still gets to TDC at the same time as a stock stroke.
