21 year old stock bore!

believe it or not u r looking at 21 year old STOCK bore!!!
this is the stock bore of my 1988 polaris trail boss re/s
the motor was still running but the output shaft in the gear case broke so i decided to see what it looked like

cylinder still looks pretty good just hone that sh*t and put some rings in it when you get done.how was the compression on it?

i have don't have a comp tester but i which i knew!
i jsut cannot believe that it was still running!
and i thought about freshing it and went to the dealer and it was $20 per ring!

it dont shock me.. wifes old trail boss made it from 1990 tell 2009 on stock everything!! new owner ran the oil tank dry and smoked the rings.. was at 127 compression before i got rid of it

im doing that now just to find a price but im trying to fix the the gearcase at the moument and the part i need is $533!! these things r pricey!

your best bet for fixing it is look on CL.. hell there was a90 trail blazer that runs and rides here for $500... worth it for parts.. saves 33 bucks and get enough parts to fix anything

i never worried about it. stock injection will last you 3-4 tanks of gas

The thread never bashed bout them being unreliable, but for being UGLY,SLOW,GAY, AND ITS A POLARIS! EVEN THE NAME IS GAY!! LOL!

for my first atv its not that bad! and this one would get me to where i needed to get and at a pretty fast pace. i know its not the best quad but for what it was it was good and the only problem i had out of it beside a broke output shaft was the small sproket, heck it still had the stock tires on it that still had air( even though one had a tube and that caused on tire to dry rot) but still its fun to mess around in the mud with!

here is out old trail boss.. from last winter before i traded it for a blaster... it got rolled 4 times in one week lol

in the vid.. from beggining to the tip over was my wife riding!!... it stayed running even on its side.. only reason it died was cos she hit the kill switch pushing it back over

in its life.. it pulled man man cars, puled a blazer out of asnow bank, pushed cars onto car trailers, pulled me wheni run outta gas, it was rolled, flipped jumped, wheelied, ran into sh*t, even fell threw the river once in winter..... it floats!!





BTW blasters throw a mean roost!! lol

i know my also broke a tie rod in the perfect place! on a narrow trail that had steep enbankments on each side!
i have never flippped mine but my friends have twice just 10 mins apart! i was pissed!!
