Hi all,
Okay here's the problem,

In First gear I get a knock or clicking sound when under a load. I squeeze the clutch and it's quiet let it go and It's knocking. All the rest of the gears are quiet as can be just 1st gear. When I prop it up off the ground and let it idle in 1st I hear nothing, but apply some rear brake and there it is again.
So Only in 1st gear under a load I am getting a knocking sound.

I suspect a gear is chipped or it has a tooth broken off? What do you all think it could be? Thanks!!

yes, it could be a damaged cog. a damaged shift fork is also possible.
did you try runnin it in all the gears w/ the ass end lifted?
when's the last time you changed your oil?

one off the teeth is chipped on either your drive shaft or the driven shaft. replace both of them

I Ran through all the gears with the ass up and it's quiet in all gears and with brake applied only 1st knocks.

What parts do I need? Are the shift forks universal or is each one in there different? Thanks!

Just so you know...

Just so you know we were talking about my 1983 Honda XL200R I bought to be a winter project. I found out I have to split the cases to replace the gears.
Is a blaster the same way, the cases need to be split?
