i did a compression test and came up with 120 psi. i thought it should be around 160 psi with the head shaved .035".
i took the jug off and inspected everything. seemed fine??
then i reassembled the top end with new gaskets and did another compression check. 190 PSI now.I:I

full throttle, 10 kicks, cold engine.

is 190 safe? how high is to high.
thanks

190?? and only took it apart and put it back together??. if thats the case.. im thinking you had a leak to start with. and when you put it back together you sealed it..

on a comp test im not sure but arnt you only suppposto kick it over like 3 times to get your reading??

i never checked the compression when i originally assembled the motor.

i heard 10 kicks to get an accurate reading.

110 octane at what ratio 32:1? 50:1?

i was using castor 927 at 32:1 but ive heard a few bad things about it so i think ill run the yamalube 2r now.

jet change needed for race gas?

klots, yammay lube, castor.. any high quality 2 stroke oil is fine.. herd klots makes more power due to higher energy ( btu?) rating so makes most power..

personally i love pro honda hp2 it clears out quick after warm up, super clean burn, fuel is a nice pretty blue color.. and redily availbal at a honda dealer.. pricey ay 8 bucks for a16 oz bottle but i think its worth it.. mix's 32-1 hole bottle to 4 gallons..
you shouldnt have to rejet runing race fuel.. but you may not need full on race fuel... maybe mix 2 gallons of aquality 110 fuel with 2 gallons prem. than your oil of choice..

BTW quality race fuels would be torco, vp, or turbo blue

thats insanly high. you sure lol?

thats not a bad price at all .. id pay it.. seeing the vp dealer here runs ya about 750-8 bucks a gallon for vp 110

gas station in oshkosh sells turbo blue? right at the pump... 110 octane.. last time i bouhgt it when reg gas was mid 3s a gallon.. it was 689 a gallon..BUT its readly avail.. 15 min drive for it.. i know aguy that works at the air port.. im gonna talk to him about aviation fuel.. i think they will sell it to the public..

the sad part is .. in the car world race gas is just a crutch for thoughs that dont know how to tune there set up.. i have ran 110 mixed with premium for hot summer nights at the drag strip just to help keep from detonation at higher boost levels in the heat.. in my 88 turbo coupe i ran 20 psi on a mix of 110 and 93

ide say 160 is a safe level to run. 190 is very high for compression in a blaster i would def. run atleast 100 octane fuel and i would never mess with the timing on the bike mayb retard it a bit if anything. the blaster is air cooled so it doesnt have a real way to cool the bike down and a 190 psi motor is gonna run hott.

yo u would have to have an extrmely cut/modifed head to get 190 pounds and just milling .035 should in no way be near that kind of compression ,your either doing something or your tester is scrap ,it varies but after 155 pounds your entering into detonation zone for most blasters with pump gas.if you truely had 190 pounds it would be a brute to kickover have poor topend overrev and youd have a nice boost ported piston (big fat hole on the crown) after 20minutes of running on pump gas
high static compression wears rings and is hard on crank bearings

im at 180 comp and run the av gas its 3.79 a gal i mix 3.7 gal of av gas to 1.3 of premium..
comes out to just over 106 octane..
thats what i have to run or i have detonation problems..

hey flotec quick?
i was told i have to run a little premium with the av gas because of some additive that are missing in the av gas.. is that correct??
