alright here is the problem guys I've been working on my nephews blaster any keeps cutting in 5th and 6th gear and sometimes in the lower gears in a higher rpm. it has a new air filter Wiseco piston 20 over boyesen reeds. I had the vitos Timming advance key in it. Took it out.I don a compression check 125 psi Donna leak down test passedI had a 270 main jet in it no air box lid. I went down to a 230 main and still was doing this. Cleaned the carb. It has a 14 42 gearing. Im at a loss with it. Doesnt matter what I do it doesnt help it.

Fmf pipe and silencer. Yes broke it in right and has pass a leak done test. I have tried a 270 260; 250 240 230 with same results either wont run out in any gear or it wouod run right untill 6th gear. It ran fine for 8 months then the filter got dirty and this is all this started. But I have a brand new filter on.when it was acting up when the filter was dirty I took th e filter off and it would pull clean. Now it wont at all

10 minutes 7 psi drop about a half in ten minutes. The motor is sealed up good guys. Beside the airleak it would make it lean and run out instead of it blogging out.

Crack the float bowl drain screw open and see if you have a constant flow of fuel.

The petcock could be restricting the fuel flow.

yeah I have had happened before on my LT 250 R I wash it in the winter and the vent cap for the gas tank froze. The quad quit running on me took me awhile to figure it out but the bike is acting like that I always work on LT 250 R the blaster seems weird compared to it. it's weird everytime you do a mod on the quadracer you usally have to lean it out.blaster you have to make richer.once I get the blaster straightened out im thinking about putting a stock quadracer carb on it its a 34 mm.

A GOOD carb cleaning is not a quick douche with a spray can. You must completely dissasemble it and either ultrasonicly or soak it. I use this : Berryman® Chem-Dip® Carburetor and Parts Cleaner | Berryman Products

Some of the jet holes and passages are not much bigger than a hair, such as the ones in the needle jet/emulsion tube.

Make sure you have good flow from tank. Vent tubes on carb are open. Set float height. Check that float actually floats. Inspect/replace float needle valve.

You didn't over-oil the filter did you?

I dont know what the hell is wrong with this damn thing. Im going to do another leak down test today.it has lost 10psi of compression in a day. So hopefully I can find the problem before I do a complete rebuild of the motor. I thought maybee the spark arrester got plug but that didnt help. The problem is getting worse

Running a blaster with all them mods on a stock 230 main is your problem.

That's why u lost 10 psi.

Go back to AT LEAST a 270.

When u got the filter did u oil I correctly? Over oiling restricts air flow.

Do u have oil injection or is it disconnected.

If so is the nipple on the carb for the oil like plugged up? That's a common air leak that can not be detected on a leak test.

Take shee's advice COMPLETELY disassemble the carb and soak it for a while then THOROUGHLY clean an reassemble.

I forgot to add that I blow compressed air through all passages both ways to be positive it's clean. Inspect ALL jets that you can see light through the holes, including the emulsion/needle jet tube.

I had a 270 in when this started to happen. I live up in the mountains normal jetting doesn't really apply to where I'm at. A a buddy of mine had a blaster v force 2s fmf combo and uni filter. His bike ran on a 230 for a year before he sold it never had a problem from it. We were riding anywhere from 1 hour to 4 hours a day so he put alot of hours on it. I had a240 in it when I was testing it. I had the lid on. Now im back to a 250 . It wouldnt even run with a 270 in it after I done the topend on it. Without the air box lid. I have tooken the carb apart cleaned it by dipping it and blowing compressed air. Im not trying to sound like a hole. I have worked alot on 2 strokes. I was wanting to see if anyone has run into this problem before.

I just done another leak down test it held 8 psi for 10 minutes so I know the motor is sealing up proper. do these bikes get any electrical issues changed about everything I can change and still no success

finally got it running right guys the little washer goes above the main jet was missing it was letting the brass tube float up and down which it wasnt getting enough gas or to much. But it running really well now. Thanks for any suggestions or help. Now my nephew can race next week
