I've stripped bike all the way to frame. 6+ hours of wire wheeling and some aircraft stripper and started painting. I got bike for 150 in Alaska where I live. I got with broken left side crankcase. Seized crank bearing and connecting rod bearing. Broken drive sprocket, and misc. Other broken stuff not anything worse than listed. I got Ken O'Conner racing doing top end and crankshaft. Bore, hone, rechamber, port, new OEM balanced crank, blah blah. Any suggestions on exhaust? Reeds? I want any and all suggestions appreciated. The red on the front frame piece is finished color without clear coat.

What kind of riding do you plan on doing? That should help with a pipe selection. Different pipes for different power ranges.

I like my VF4 reeds, before them, I ran some boysen carbon flex ones with good results.

I will me riding trails and I like to be peppy over top overall speed. Has anyone used shearer exhaust. Or dynoport. After splitting case I noticed the balancer is bent and wore into the case a little I think the case is still ok.

I actually think most cases are cut out like that on purpose, I could be mistaken though. Almost positive every case I have looked at has been like that.

Highly suggest new balancer bearings while it's apart

Yes just did a quick look at one of Kens videos while he had it apart and it looks just like yours, all good there. But I would def replace the bearing just to be sure its in good condition.

thanks. I want to do this right the first time. I'm trying to find a complete bottom end bearing kit any suggestions there.

have everything apart but no time anymore till working season is done but here is the progress. I got new stuff coming from Ken O'Connor in a few weeks but wont finish to end of summer.

Really no way the shaft could bend. Inspect the counterbalancer drive gear closely.
Don't know if gear failed and took out bearing and case, or bearing failed taking gear and case.
Why I suggested new brgs for balance shaft. They're cheap (relatively) and spin at same speed as crank.

What do you do that it's now "The summer work season"?

New bearings, shift shaft and sprockets on the way. Now if I didn't forget anything I should be ready to finish before new years.
