Not sure how to post all the pics in here, but i just uploaded some in my profile of progress on my '00 teardown. Bought for $100. I will post some more when I sync my crackberry to my laptop. Any input would be appreciated...ya know, pay close attn to this problem area..hey that looks like sh*t...haha...anything

Upload them to photobucket, then copy the

I went to buy it and the guy said it didnt run,i figured the motor was shot. It was! These guys had the oil lines all hangin, the one off the carb had a sheet metal screw in it. When i took the cylinder off,the wristpin had wore a groove in the cylinder...i had never seen that before. I found out why...dumass used a snap ring in place of a circlip! The rest wasn't so bad just extremely dirty. Hell, I found out during teardown and cleaning that the seat was actually blue on top!! It looked completely black! Only thing missing was the complete rear brake and headlight. Has nerf bars, full skid plate,DG front bumper and DG rear grab bar and a DG rear bumper(pretty cool looking) and full FMF exhaust. Another strange thing about the engine, the carb air screw was turned completely in....dont ask me!! Already have it back together now, Im just waiting to hear from my machine guy if the cylinder is now an ashtray or usable(it was stock bore). I power washed the chassis, painted it with Mercury(Mercruiser) silver paint. Painted the motor with Mercury black paint. My buddy owns a boat dealer and Mercury brand paint is just plain awesome!! Cleaned all the plastic up real good(am going to change it to white front and rears with blue tank cover and front nose piece) and the seat looks great too. Aside from motor which is simple and cheap, the only other things I have to do is get a jet kit for carb,R lwr a-arm(ball joint shot),upper a-arm bushings, exhaust hanger, new chain rollers, airbox lid(would keep it off but we like mud) and the whole rear brake assembly. For less than probly $800, I will have a basically brand new quad for my girl to ride so she quits bugging me to ride my Banshee!!

lookin good man! little time with the heat gun to smooth out those stress marks and it'll really be lookin good!

damn! thanks tio ale! im mechanical not computer literate! haha...like i said, i have pics of it back together, i just have to sync up my crackberry. Soon as I get the cylinder back and a few odds and ends(ebay man!!), it will be up and runnin. Its gettin there...ive only had it for two weeks and only played with it for 1 day and a half so its been a cheap and easy project.
