Its not the crank seals, its not white smoke. It has blue smoke like normal. The seals had grease on them.

I forgot to mention this is on a 2003 blaster and I also took the key switch off and wired those two wires together to make sure it wasn't the keyswitch but still nothing.

A Nikasil plated cylinder is pretty tough but also it does get scratched and when it gets bad enough you got to get it replated. I think it does have to be honed to match your piston but im not totally sure on that.

Lol well its probably a good thing that I dont like half doing anything either so I always make sure its clean before a new gasket goes on so it doesn't leak. I just wanted to hear some other ideas from other people on how they do it

Buy used just check it over real good and you won't have a pile of junk when you buy it if you check everything. I would agree with the other guy that said buy a used 400. My payments on my 08 ltr are 222 a month and I had to pay 1500 down. I wish I could take it all back and buy a used 250r but...

A nikasil plated cylinder can't be bored. You have to get it replated. I had a 97 cr125 and it blew up so I bought a sleeve for it and got it pressed in so I could bore it the next time it blew up.

What are some of the things you all do to clean the gasket surface and get the old gasket material off it? I split the crankcase and I am looking for some ideas on getting the yamabond off. I got a dremel but im afraid the bit I got will take to much off and cause a leak. Thanks in advance
