Help accessing Carb Needle and Clip

Yup, I was already 2/12 turns out of the air screw. I can't seem to get the stripped screw out. I think I will just try a different jet. Is this called the pilot or slow jet? I'm assuming I would need to go a size BIGGER?

Help accessing Carb Needle and Clip

Installed a PC pipe and have some severe bog between 1/4 to 3/4 throttle. I'm trying to do some carb re-jetting. I wanted to look at the needle jet and clip setting but the two tiny screws in the carb slide which I believe need to be unscrewed to access the needle are stripped. Can't seem to...

    sheared flywheel woodruff key

thanks for the reply and info. I will keep my fingers crossed. Will I know immediately if this were to happen again in the future? What are the symptoms of a sheared key? Can you start or run a bike with a sheared woodruff key? I'm assuming that it will throw the timing off, but could this...

    sheared flywheel woodruff key

I'm a happy camper! I:II just got my project Blaster rebuilt and up and running today. After much frustration and head scratching, I took it over to a local indy shop to help get it started after my top end rebuild. They diagnosed it to be a sheared flywheel woodruff key. I've been trying to do...

Is this spark weak? and Stator Questions

Thanks, I'll go thru all the connections again. Does the cap seperate from the plug wire? How is the cap re-attached after I cut the 1/4"?

Is this spark weak? and Stator Questions

I couldn’t get my video to download, but I can't seem to get a blue spark from what I've read about in previous posts. Still unable to get my project Blaster running. I thought it might be the coil based on the ohm reading I received but the replacement had the same readings and same no start...

Where do I go next? - Project Blaster

Not sure how to check for bad reed valves. The seemed to be closed tightly. Are there any specs or tests to detect a bad reed?

Where do I go next? - Project Blaster

Purchased a non running blaster. Fixed the low compression with a fresh top end. Leak down test successful, seems to have spark but won't start. I had a couple of quick backfires but that's it. Perhaps a fuel issue? The carb seemed to be in pretty bad shape when I was cleaning and rejetting for...

    Forgot this step!

Well, it appears to me that this bracket holding tension to the clutch cable was suppossed to be attached to the cylinder base nuts. Do you guys think it would be better to undo and re-torque the single bolt or undo and re-torque all of the bolts evenly? I'm probably being nuerotic but I just...

Can someone get me in the Jetting Ball Park

Buttoning up my project Blaster. Replaced the silencer from the full Trinity system with a Pro Circuit Silencer/SA. I plan on using a Uni filter. The air box lid has been removed. I'm at sea level here in So. Cal. Any jetting suggestions to get me started would be greatly appreciated.

    Leaking Air from Reed Cage

Thanks, I give it a try with some sealant and keep my fingers crossed.

    Leaking Air from Reed Cage

Well, unfortuneately still leaking air. I think it might be coming from where the reed basket and the air intake meet as oppossed to where the reed and the head join. The back of the air intake piece appears to have a black discoloration (see pic). I'm wondering if the previous owner might have...

    Leaking Air from Reed Cage

I have my project Blaster put together. Performed a leak down test and noticed a significant leak at the bottom of my reed cage. (see pic). I re-torqued the bolts but still leaking. I sprayed the paper gasket with Permatex copper gasket maker prior to install. Any thoughts?

    Is this coil bad?

Also trying to diagnois a weak spark on my project Blaster. (not my expertise) The manual give the correct resistance with a pocket tester at 1k. It shows the spark plug cap to be 4 to 6k. Am I testing it it correctly? I assuming you dont have to cut into the wires leading to the coil. I'm...
